Welcome to Rain's Thursday Art and Dinner Date! The theme is 'Snowed In'. Here is my ACEO (2 1/2" x 3 1/2").
For the Dinner Date, I made this Italian Style Kale. It is similar to my Italian style Swiss Chard.
4 cloves garlic minced
4 cloves garlic minced
1/2c lemon juice
bunch of kale leaves cut into 1 1/2" pieces
1/4 c wine
2 tbs olive oil
1 tbs unsalted butter
2 sprigs of basil chopped
1 tsp dried parsley
1/2 onion chopped
1 tomato chopped
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
1/2 tsp salt
1/2c grated parmesan
1/4c water
Saute onion, garlic, parsley, salt, basil in olive oil and butter. Add tomatoes. Add wine, simmer 3 minutes. Add kale leaves, lemon juice, parmesan, water. Simmer 8 minutes until leaves are wilted and softened.

It's amazing how much kale and other greens wilt down when they're cooked.

Your painting is beautiful, Christine and I love Kale so it is nice to have a new recipe I can try. I usually just use it in salads, not cooked, so it will be a new experiment for me. Stay warm, Christine ...
