I am linking this post to Kathy's Food Wednesdays.
We have been ordering pizza from Papa John's a chain that recently opened up nearby. They include a free dipping sauce (also pictured in the photo above) with each pizza but son K doesn't like this dip and they don't substitute other flavours although it is included with the pizza. Rather than throw them out, I googled a copycat Papa John's garlic sauce recipe to see what the ingredients were. It is margarine, garlic powder and salt. I decided to add a packet to flavour these potato wedges. It is maybe a 1/4c of margarine.
Cut 3 med-large potatoes in half lengthways, then in half lengthways again to make quarters, and then cut each half in half lengthways on the diagonal to make two wedges (you’ll end up with 8 wedges per potato; make sure they are about the same thickness and size).
On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, season the potatoes with onion powder, oregano and or parsley, paprika, a packet of garlic sauce (or margarine, garlic powder, salt), and black pepper. You can use olive oil in place of the margarine, maybe a 1/4c.
Bake at 425F for 25-30 minutes.
(I have also used the Papa John sauce to make garlicky scrambled eggs. It is satisfying to not have perfectly good food items go to waste. It is also fun to create).

They look crispy and yummy.
Potato wedges are so delicious! And I'm with you, Christine. I don't like to waste food. We rarely if ever do that.
Such ingenuity! I like it. Yes, always great to be creative in the kitchen. The potatoes look awesome!
You are very innovative.
The potatoes look amazing!
Happy Monday, Christine.
Yummy, I love wedges! Hugs, Valerie
Delicious!
Good not to let the sauce go to waste. Those potato wedges look great. And interesting info about tulips and the Bulgarians!
Sometimes those sauces are what makes it. Our GS2 wants the Chick-Fil-A sauce on everything these days.
I used to get a lot of Papa John's pizza, and was always on the lookout for ways to use the dipping sauce. Your wedges look wonderful.
The wedges look good. Mike makes them often to go along with our deli sandwhiches we make. Papa Johns - we have them out here. I love Pizza Hut more than any of the pizza chains. Then i will pick Dominos' second because of their great cheesy breads but the best absolutely is a restaurant a few towns up called The Cottage who makes the best pizza i've ever had, Sausage and pepperoni...
Those potato wedges look very tasty! YUM!
Oh I love the idea of adding the garlic sauce to your eggs.
Your potato wedges look good, I sometimes do oven-baked swede /rutabaga wedges.
Have a great week ahead.
All the best Jan
We do potato wedge every so often.
Coffee is on and stay safe
Oh yum! This sounds wonderful!
Dipping these in the Papa John sauce sounds amazing!
Ricas papas. Te mando un beso y gracias por la receta.
That is a great price on potatoes. Thanks for the recipe. Have a lovely day.
Looks great and healthy! We mostly use this method. Baked potato wedges are better.
Oh Yum these potato wedges sound so delicious-I like to bake fries too instead of frying in oil. and I love potato wedges.
Thank you for sharing your recipe with us on Food Wednesdays
Kathy
Looks good.
I love baked potato wedges. Good idea about the dip. I always like to keep some in the house because you can buy them so not a lot of cash. Yours look very yummy. Happy Wednesday. hugs-Erika
Those looks great Christine! I love making potato wedges. Sometimes I sprinkle a little Parm on them at the end of the baking.
I love the potato wedges and the idea of the sauce sounds perfect, except you will NEVER find margarine in my home. Butter is the only way to go. Other than that, this sounds like a wonderful vegetarian dish. BTW, I paid nearly $6.00 (USD) for 5 lbs of potatoes last week! You got a steal.
I like potato wedges and yours look very tasty.
I make potato wedges once in a while. Hubby always loves it when i do.. That garlic sauce sounds yummy .. so glad you found a way to use it.. Sorry late to the party this week! Hugs! deb
This is a great idea. I've had a hankering for french fries lately, and I love them cut like this.
